ExternFinder

Privacy

What information ExternFinder collects, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account details — name, email, password (stored as a secure hash) and account type.
  • Student profiles — program, school, graduation date, location (ZIP), availability, skills, certifications, clinical readiness checklist and résumé.
  • Organization profiles — names, addresses, descriptions and verification information for employers and schools.
  • Activity — applications and their status history, interviews, messages and attachments, notifications and problem reports.
  • Technical data — a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and basic server logs used for security.

How it is used

To operate the service: matching students with opportunities, letting employers and schools coordinate placements, sending account and activity emails, keeping the platform secure, and producing placement and outcome reporting for the organizations involved. We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising trackers.

Who can see student information

  • Employers see profiles of students who apply to them, and of students who chose to be Discoverable.
  • A student's connected school sees that student's profile and applications.
  • Contact details are shown to employers only if the student turns on "Show my contact details".
  • Authorized ExternFinder administrators can access records to operate and protect the service.

Your choices

You can change your visibility, edit or remove your résumé, update your details in Account settings, or ask us to close your account and delete your data through Report a problem (choose "Account").
